Suggested Itinerary
Leaving Adelaide travel a short distance to the picturesque
Adelaide Hills, a region that produces some of the finest cool
climate wines in Australia. Be sure to stop off at Mount Lofty
Summit for spectacular views over Adelaide. Take time to explore
the historic German town of Hahndorf with its many shops,
restaurants and galleries located along the tree-lined street.
Enjoy a full day exploring the Adelaide Hills, with more than
50 cellar doors ranging from large well-known brands to edgy
boutique winemakers, a thriving arts community, beautiful scenery
and an astonishing range of fresh treats for foodies.
Travel through the scenic Fleurieu Peninsula as you drive to Cape
Jervis to board the SeaLink ferry service to Kangaroo Island,
which is over 155km in length and 55km wide and is Australia’s
third largest Island. During the next two days, you will have the
opportunity to take in some of the spectacular coastal scenery,
beautiful beaches, adventure activities, scenic landscapes and
fantastic National Parks.
Whilst Kangaroo Island is much celebrated for its wildlife, its food
and wine are integral parts of the Kangaroo Island experience.
Try sheep’s cheese and yoghurt along with a generous dollop of
organic honey from the Island’s famous Ligurian Bee.
Enjoy some of Kangaroo Island’s fine, home grown and awardwinning wines and even some spirits from a boutique distillery.
Sample some of Kangaroo Island’s freshwater crayfish – the
Marron or savour the famous King George Whiting. There is
nothing wild or untamed about the Island’s food and wines!
You can swim with dolphins or enjoy sailing, swimming,
snorkelling, surfing and scuba-diving too. If you’d rather keep your
feet on terra firma, then there’s caving, bushwalking, quad biking
and sand-boarding.
See the wonders of this great Island such as the Seal Bay
Conservation Park where you will be taken on a beach walk tour
with an experienced guide to be amongst a colony of rare and
wild Australian Sea-lions – a truly amazing and unforgettable
experience (activities and tours not included).
Visit Flinders Chase National Park, a sanctuary for native Australian
wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas. Get
some awesome photo opportunities at Remarkable Rocks and
Admirals Arch, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful New
Zealand Fur Seals that can be seen resting, swimming and playing
in the waves or on the rocks (entry fee not included).
