Mr. Reyes-AP Human Geography Summer Assignment
The AP Human Geography course is equivalent to an introductory college-level course in
human geography. The course introduces students to the systematic study of patterns
and processes that have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth’s
surface. Students employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to examine
socioeconomic organization and its environmental consequences. They also learn about
the methods and tools geographers use in their research and applications.
In order for students to be prepared for the AP exam in May, it is necessary to have
basic vocabulary knowledge prior to the start of the school year.
Define the following vocabulary words, often referred to as geographic concepts, on a
sheet of paper. Your work should be hand-written. Use the following link for definitions;
select Chapter 1, then click on the “Glossary” tab:

Your work is due on the first day of school, so be prepared to arrive on Monday, August
