Diet Analysis Project: Follow the instructions below carefully.
Instructions for completing the food intake record form
1. Record your food intake for 1 weekend day and 2 week days
2. select days that mostly represent your normal eating pattern
3. take your food intake record form with you on the days you intend to record your foods
4. write down everything you eat including beverages, and ingredients in mixed dishes lie
casseroles
5. Write down the amount of each food you consumed on the form. Fully describe each
food item.
6. For quantity, do not use grams. You can use ounces, cups, tablespoon or teaspoon for the
amount. Be as precise as you can possibly get to get ans accurate measurement of your
food
7. For some foods like fruits, you may quantify them by size. For example, one medium
apple, one small banana.
8. For round foods such as tortillas, bagels, pancakes, you may use the diameter by
measuring from one end to the other to quantify the size of the food. For example, 3 inch
round pancake.
9. Review your food intake record for completeness.
10. Failure to follow above instructions may result in a point deduction for each error
identified.
Instructions for entering your data and analyzing your food intake
1. Go to www.mypyramidtracker.gov
2. Click on assess your food intake in the middle of the page
3. You need to create a user ID and password to be able to proceed
4. Enter your personal information
5. Click on save today’s changes today button in the bottom
6. Click on proceed to food intake
7. Enter food name in the box and click on search
8. Choose the food the best describe your food choice and click add next t the food choice. The
food will now be listed on the right side of the screen
9. Continue to add foods this way until all your foods for that day has been entered.
10. click on select quantity under your food list on the right side of the screen
11. select the serving by using the arrow next to each food and enter the number of servings you
ate in the second box. Repeat for all your foods.
12. Click on save and analyze button in the bottom
13. On the menu bar on top of the screen, click update profile
14. This time change the date to day 2 of your food intake record
15. Click save today’s changes button
16. Click proceed to food intake button
17. Follow steps 7-16 until you enter your foods for all three days
18. print your food intake record for each day
19. Click analyze your food intake on the menu bar
20. click on meeting 2005 DG line, click in maintains your current weight circle and print for
each day
21. Click analyze your food intake again
22. click on nutrient intakes and print for each day
23. Click on analyze your food intake
24. Click on MyPramid recommendation and print the report for each day
25. Click on energy balance
26. Click on energy balance history and print the report
27. On thee left side of the screen, click Estimated Energy Requirement (EER) and print the
report
28. Click on total energy/calorie intake and print the report
Checklist of reports to print
Food intake record form for all three days
meeting 2005 DGA report for 3 days
Nutrient intake reports for 3 days
MyPyramid recommendation for 3 days
Energy balance history report
Estimated Energy Requirement (EER) report
Total energy/calorie intake report
29. Once you have all your reports, complete the evaluation of Diet Analysis Result Form. The
form can be found on the course website at faculty.mdc.edu/ofaoye. Click on the class
documents and noted button.
30. Submit your diet analysis Result form with all of the above reports at the same time. Once
you submit your assignment, there will be no do over granted for incomplete work. Be very
careful with your calculations and make sure you follow direction accurately. If at any point
you are not sure of what to do, please come and talk to me about it so I can guide you in the
right direction. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST DAY
31. You will lose 5 points for each report you did not submit.
