BIOGRAPHY
Robert S. Mann, Esq., is recognized as one of the most effective mediators
and arbitrators of construction, business, real estate, employment and
injury disputes in California.
As a mediator, Mr. Mann resolves over 90% of the claims brought
resolution. He provides private dispute resolution services on an
independent basis and as a member of the Mediation Panel of the
Arbitration Association and through ADR Services in Century City,
also a member of the National Roster of Construction/Commercial

Mr. Mann brings special expertise to the mediation of construction disputes
as a result of more than 20 years of litigating, mediating and arbitrating
construction and construction defect disputes. As lead trial counsel in the
longest construction arbitration in the history of the California operations of
the American Arbitration Association, he obtained the largest construction
defect arbitration award in California--$90 million for the owner/developer
of a luxury hotel, and in the same proceeding defeated the general
contractor’s $24 million claim against the owner.
In the course of his legal practice, Mr. Mann has represented some of the
largest real estate developers in the United States, including Sears Savings
Bank, Shapell Industries and Goldrich & Kest in construction defect matters
with tens of millions of dollars in claimed damages. Individual homeowner
clients of Mr. Mann include Maurice Marciano, the Co-CEO of Guess? Inc.
Homeowner association clients include the Stevenson Ranch Community
Association and the Diamond Head Homeowner’s Association. Mr. Mann
represents and counsels many developers, contractors, engineers,
architects, and owners with respect to a variety of construction and real
estate matters. Mr. Mann has written numerous articles in the field and
