IOE COURSE BREADTH REQUIREMENT
For PhD Students Entering September 2014
Before any student takes the Preliminary Examination, she/he must fulfill a breadth requirement.
This is done by taking at least one course from three of the four areas listed below, and obtaining
a grade of B+ in each. (This requirement is reduced to at least one course from two areas for
interdisciplinary students):
