Job Purpose:
Grow and expand the CBOB business by supporting Cluster Marketing Managers in product & segment argumentation and solutions, market research and
business intelligence, and participate in strategic selling activities with customers & prospect customers.
Supporting and participating CBOB Cluster's business development with market knowledge and new product concepts and by defining the cluster strategy
for future business. Assurance of accuracy and quality of data and information is key to the position, and providing leadership to the Cluster Marketing
Managers in best practice and in the execution of their roles.
These goals to be achieved through the utilization of the following key marketing activities; Market Research, Market Segment Management and Product
Management, for which the Regional Marketing Manager is 'process owner' within CBOB (and key liaison to SIG Global Marketing, Linnich, Germany).
The Regional Marketing Manager works independently on his agreed targets in cooperation with and guidance of the Director Marketing and Business
Development. The Regional Marketing Manager has to elaborate alternative ways to complete tasks, and to evaluate and propose best solutions and
realize the goals.
Responsibility
1. Market Research & Business Intelligence:
To create and maintain a dynamic central market research platform that highlights market intelligence
relevant to SIG Combibloc Obeikan focused geography and which supports PM and MSM objectives,
and business development activities.
a) Understand NCSD & LD markets & value chain: suppliers, products, wholesalers, retailers
and consumers.
b) Build up a data base for all market intelligence within the CBOB region.
c) Keep updated with new activities and developments in all market aspects which impact
the business directly and indirectly (new players, new products, new substrates, new
competitors, etc...).
d) Create market overview which highlights LD & NCSD production and consumption levels
per categories, pack size and pack type etc..., via the Cluster Marketing Managers.
e) Create country overview reports (as required) via the Cluster Marketing Managers.
f) Monitor competitor’s developments, strategies, tactics, prices (FM, packs...) within the
CBOB region, and summarize these in a presentable form. Maintain a competition

g) Lead CBOB yearly marketing research activity, both for yearly SIG OPLA research and
ad-hoc research within CBOB, such as concept tests, packaging tests, usage & attitude
etc...
2. Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSS - process owner):
a) Plan and manage (lead) the annual CS Survey process in CBOB.
b) Find and approve CSS consultant annually based on CBOB strategic plan and Cluster
needs.
c) Budget & monitor actual costs for annual CSS process.
d) Plan and coordinate CSS survey with the consultant/Clusters/customers
e) Collate and distribute CSS results to the Clusters, and plan feedback/strategy sessions
with Clusters/customers.
f) Manage the CSS archive.

Iran, Iraq, Turkey, north Africa & sub-Sahara

3. Product Management:
Work out product positioning for SIG Combibloc Obeikan’s product portfolio. Elaborate product
argumentation in the form of presentations, system cost comparisons, competition analysis. Train
sales and marketing staff product argumentation and product know-how. Transfer market needs,
defined by MSM, to concrete product ideas and push them to be realized by CBRD.
a) Update Cluster Marketing Managers with relevant innovations ongoing within SIG
Combibloc.
b) Expert & knowledge hub for existing product portfolio within CBOB, and participant in
support of selling activities within CBOB (presentations, business cases etc...).
c) Anticipate future market developments and summarize the results in product needs for
CBOB within SIG Global Marketing.
d) Maintain an archive of updated presentations, technical details and business cases.
e) Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) process owner with CBOB region.
4. Market Segment Management:
Analysis of markets and customer product portfolios. Detect market trends and new products in the
markets. Use this information as basis for customer consultancy and new product development, and
general strategic considerations. Assist and participate in Clusters' building up customer marketing
relationships.

a) Investigate market trends, new products and anticipate future market developments and
needs.
b) Analyze customers’ market position, their product positioning in the Clusters, SWOT and
product portfolio and develop customized product concepts to assure best utilization of the
combibloc filling machines.
c) Identify the production gaps, and support Clusters to optimum their production level.
d) Update Clusters with global and local market trends which influence consumer behavior;
e.g. Trend spotter, INNOVA.
e) Create a local CBOB "Trend spotter" quarterly customer newsletter with input from SIG
Global Marketing, and with support of the Communication Manager.
f) Validate new product ideas, quantify their market potential and create business cases to
lead the "concept selling" activity within the CBOB region, supporting Clusters as an
"operational partner" of Cluster Marketing and Sales.
g) Business Intelligence marketing process owner to advise on design and layout, and for
upload and maintenance of accurate market & competition data into the system,
participating with and supporting the IT department.
h) Print quality expert within CBOB Marketing, participating with Quality Department
activities.
5. Business Development:
Track regional, national, and global projects that are of future value to SIG Combibloc Obeikan. Keep
contact to R&D and represent SIG Combibloc Obeikan’s interests in the context of SIG Combibloc’s
innovation process. Assist Sales Team in their efforts to introduce SIG Combibloc Obeikan’s line of
innovations to existing and potential customers.
a) Cooperate with CBOB Cluster Marketing & Sales in meetings with customers and
potential customers.
b) Build up and manage a data base on Global Accounts and be prepared to answer
requests and/or status reports from GAM (Global Account Managers).
c) Define new target markets/segments and target customers together with Marketing &
Sales.
d) Define cluster/country strategy annually for the coming 5 years; Strategic Market Plans
(CBOB & per Cluster), with relating "action plans", to be used as a key basis of reference
during the annual "CBOB strategic workshop" in .September.
e) Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM) participant; support in the definition and
implementation of a CRM tool to be used in NBD monitoring within CBOB.
