HOURS: Monday thru Friday 8am-12pm and 1-5pm
APPOINTMENT POLICY:
In order to register for classes each semester you MUST make an appointment through Katalyst with your
assigned advisor. For other questions during the year, you may come during walk-in hours or use email for
quick questions. Your advisor may request that you make an appointment for certain issues based on time
and ease of communication.
Krannert School of Management Advising Office (MAO) Mission:
The mission of advising at Purdue University is to partner with students, faculty, staff, departments and
administration to empower students to develop and implement an individualized plan for academic success,
personal, and career development; while integrating learning and enrichment within the University and
community (PACADA, 2007).
EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENTS:
Your Advisor expects you to:

Schedule regular appointments each semester.

Arrive to appointments on time and prepared with registration materials.

Contact the advising office ahead of time if unable to make scheduled appointment.

Check Purdue email account regularly and respond to messages from your advisor when necessary.

Keep a record of your academic progress and goals.

Seek help before a situation becomes a crisis.

Take an active role in the investigation of potential majors and/or careers.

Seek out campus resources and services to help meet academic, personal, and career goals.

Accept responsibility for your decisions and actions.
EXPECTATIONS OF ADVISORS
You can expect your Advisor to:

Interpret Purdue and School of Management requirements, policies, and procedures.

Provide a safe space in which to share your questions, aspirations, concerns, and interests.

Assist the exploration areas of study and corresponding career options.

Refer you to campus services, organizations, and faculty and staff members as needed.

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights to Privacy Act (FERPA).

Assist you in making academically sound course and major decisions.

Provide you with accurate and up-to-date information regarding course and major requirements
