Faculty Position in Physics - Condensed Matter Theory (pni131024)
The University of Texas at Dallas, a rapidly growing university in the DFW Metroplex, invites applications for a
faculty position in condensed matter theory in the Department of Physics. A successful candidate will have a
PhD in Physics or equivalent and a record of research accomplishments reflecting a broad range of interests
in theoretical condensed matter physics. While this position is anticipated to be at the assistant professor
level, individuals with particularly strong credentials may be considered for other ranks. A strong commitment
to teaching, at both the undergraduate and advanced graduate levels, is essential. We seek a person with
the potential to attract external research funding and the ability to develop collaborative interactions with
other theorists and experimentalists, both within the Department of Physics and across the campus.
The University of Texas at Dallas, located just north of Dallas in Richardson, Texas, now has an enrollment of
more than 20,000 students. It has been designated by the State of Texas as one of the seven emerging
universities to be encouraged to become a major research campus. UTD maintains close ties with the nearby
University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and major corporate entities in the Metroplex.
