Rainforest Essay
The destruction of Brazil’s rainforests has its downfalls and positive effects.
Deforestation is the cutting down and clearing away of trees. The rainforest is home of
many species, and is also a source of many natural resources. Debt-for-nature swap
suggests that when an organization agrees to payoff a certain amount of government debt
in return for government protection of a certain part of the government. The positive
effect of this is that the government gets debt relief, while the environmentalists get rain
forest preservations. Ecotourism is allowing people to tour the rainforest while preserving
the region. I believe the rainforest is a valuable resource that the world needs. We must
create a plan to solve this issue. I believe we should defiantly preserve certain parts of the
rainforests, but others should be used. A map will be drawn showing all parts that will be
left alone.
