Customer Service Skills: In my position at McDonalds I am very familiar with dealing
with customers, handling money, being polite and dealing with problems.
Food preparation: During my Hospitality workplacement and my VET course at school
I have learned a great deal about OH & S in the workplace, safe food preparation,
knife skills and how to make basic foods such as salads, stocks, sauces.
Teamwork: In both my positions I have had to work in a team and be capable of
taking responsibility for my share of the work. At McDonalds I have been promoted to
crew trainer due to my leadership abilities and my excellent team work.
Planning and Organising: Whilst working part time and completing my HSC I also help
out at home by being responsible for cutting the grass and washing the cars. I also
play netball in winter and softball in summer. I would not be able to participate in all
these things if I was not organised, as my school results are quite good and I am very
busy outside school.

During Construction placement and work experience I learned
a great deal about safety on work sites and the use of basic
safety equipment. At Fred’s I learned about manual handling

of a team so that we all did our part of the job. I have certain
responsibilities at Fred’s and I also help out on registers when
needed. We all work together to clean up at the end of the day.
I like to work on problems to do with building things. I enjoyed
my workplacement and liked the time I spent on a worksite and
solving problems to do with difficult access to sites and
choosing the right tool for the job.
