Homework – Read Oedipus the King, Prologue, Parados, and Episode 1,
pages 1363 to 1375.
Wednesday 3-20-13
Quiz and discussion of Oedipus the King. Refer to allusions study sheet 6, #73,
blue.
Homework – Read Oedipus the King, Episode 2, pages 1375-1384.
Novel #6, dialectical notebook due tomorrow.
Thursday 3-21-13
Share at least one excellent entry from the dialectical notebook.
Continue discussing Oedipus the King.

Writing assessment Oedipus the King.
Conclude discussion of Oedipus Rex. Is Oedipus’s tragic flaw a result of fate or
character? Is he controlled by forces beyond his control or by aspects of his
character that have led to errors in judgment and action?
Begin Hamlet unit and discuss individual responsibilities and group performances
of each Act.
