Rafaele Ruocco – Bass
Every Express Train needs power, and Rafaele Ruocco provides the power
for the Blues Express.
His bass drives the band, supplying subtlety, dynamics and power in equal
measure – all focussed to support Chris and the Blues Express in producing
great music.
Raf is a professional musician with 30 years of experience playing electric
bass guitar and the upright double bass. Those who work with him consider
him to be one of the finest bass players in the Country. He has performed to
the highest standard in a variety of genres from Jazz, Blues and Rock through
to Folk and Classical and has played as a session musician on hundreds of
recordings.
Raf's live experience is broad and impressive; he has played at many of the
top venues in this country and abroad including Ronnie Scotts, the 100
Club, Dingwalls, The Roundhouse, Rock Garden, Electric Ballroom, the
Marquee and Camden Palace. Musicians he’s worked with? For
starters…. Steve Miller, Pip Pyle, Eddie Prevost, Geoff Duckworth, Sam
Kelly , Eddie “Blue” Lester, Son Maxwell, Eric Ford, Arthur Dick….the list
goes on…
A fabulous asset to the Blues Express with a great sound and feel, allied to a
sense of timing that makes an atomic clock look lazy…. We are very lucky to
have him!
