AT THE DOWNING
Advertising at the Downing Film Center is an excellent way to get exposure
for your business. Movie ads are a great way to share the spotlight and let film viewers know
what you have to offer.
At the Downing, we show static slides along with music as part of a pre-show for each major film presentation. Static
slides are full-color advertisements shown on movie screens for 10 seconds each. They will be interspersed with pictures of
local historical significance and people helping with the renaissance of the Newburgh area and movie facts that are all part of
an interactive pre-feature program. Your ad is shown before each feature - helping to reinforce your brand image. At the
Downing, each ad is guaranteed to run 2 times before every feature – based upon a 20-minute intermission. (As a BONUS,
your ad will be listed on our weekly e-news [which is sent to over 2900 subscribers] and also on our website.)
The Downing will create a professional slide ad for you (at an additional one-time set-up cost of $50.00). We will
need a professional photo or logo and text to be placed in the ad. We can also use ads prepared by businesses (e.g. business
cards) as long as they are supplied electronically on disk in .jpeg or .tiff format or in the form of a “scan-ready” copy (an no
extra cost). Your ad should be in 16 X 9 format (shape of screen – rectangular) – it should also be at least 1935k so that it
looks clear on a 16 X 9 screen. A two-week lead-time is preferred when a ad must be created by us.

the information for your ad (or a copy of your own produced.) and mail it to: ADS AT THE DOWNING, 19 Front Street,
Newburgh, NY 12550. Please indicate your method of payment – at this time we only accept cash or check (make checks out

(less for multiple months and non-for-profit organizations).

Image Size: 1280 pixels width x 720 pixel height
Resolution: 72 (or use the PhotoShop Pre-Set Size: 1280×720 HDTV 720P)
Border: Maintain a 1½ inch “safety border” on all outside edges. Try not to have words or numbers exceed this boundary.
Fonts: No smaller than 24 pt. Don’t use thin script fonts. Keep copy to 20-25 words - just include the major points about your business. Small
font cannot be read on the screen.
