Resolution: Create a Position Paper on Environmental Health and
Climate Change
Whereas the CFMS has no formal position on environmental health
and climate change.
Whereas there is a strong and growing body of research around the
health impacts of pollution and environmental damage
Whereas climate change was named by the UCL-Lancet commission
as the greatest threat to global health in the 21st century
Whereas the political and regulatory environment in Canada around
environmental and climatic issues is unsettled and rapidly changing
BIRT the VP-Advocacy and VP-Global Health form a committee to
draft a position paper on environmental health and climate change
BIFRT the position paper be presented to the CFMS general
assembly for adoption at the September, 2013 Annual General
Meeting in Vancouver, BC.
