Easter work for Year 14 Geography – 2011
I am going to be working to put up some new content onto think geography over Easter for
Year 14 – especially some podcasts and some revision stuff – so do please keep an eye on the
Think Geography web site.
You need to spend at least 9 hours doing Geography work BEFORE you start your revision.
This equates to one full day’s work in human geography.
I do want you to have a go at writing at least ONE essay relating to Ethnic Diversity from the
past paper questions list. I really do suggest that you have a go at writing (and learning) one
essay about ethnic diversity and one about ethnic conflict.
You will have a copy of the following booklets
 Section B: Global Issues
 An Introduction to Tourism powerpoint slide booklet
 Case Study: Change and Consequence of change for Tourism in Kenya
 Part 3: Use Primary data collection techniques to investigate aspects of tourism and
its management
 I will also give you some past paper Tourism questions that you should start to work
through
Basically – all you need to do to make sure that you have a good knowledge of the key issues
in Tourism is to make your way through the booklets. Please make sure that you complete all
of the tasks as well as you can.
At the very minimum you should read and complete all of the work from the first booklet and
the Case study about Cause and Consequence for Tourism in Kenya. If you have knowledge
of a different study of tourism/ ecotourism that you know well – please make sure that you write
it up using the same framework as that set up for Kenya.
