Speaker: James Thickett , Director of Market Research, Ofcom. Research findings to be brought to
life with video clips demonstrating some of the key issues facing the over 50s.

2.30-3.30pm: Session 5 The Internet: Into the Future
Speakers: Nick Lansman, DG of the Internet Service Providers Association; Peter Barron, Head of
PR for Google UK; Emma Wilson, Head of Public Affairs, Vodafone UK;
Representative from BT. Followed by Q&A from audience. Chairman: Evan Davis, BBC
3.30-4.15pm: Session 6 A Giant Leap
Martyn Lewis (provisional agreement) guides the audience through a live demonstration of systems
which may be of appeal to the over 50s. He will have a ‘celebrity’ guinea-pig to demonstrate voice
activated software for e-mails and browsing the internet; call up people overseas using SKYPE and
demonstrate the latest cutting edge technology.
4.15pm: Tea and further visit to exhibitors. Conference ends.
