Time Machine Essay
This activity is meant for you to be able to look back at all the times and places that we
have studied this past year and then pick the time and place that you would most like to
visit. It should be a fun way to review the cultures we have studied. You can use a book
to get more information to make a better paper.
If you could use a time machine to go back to visit one of the past cultures that we have
studied, which one would you choose?
 Why would you choose that one; what about it interests you?
 What time period in that culture would you want to be in and what places would
you visit? Why?
 What people would you want to talk to?
 What would you want to learn?
 Assuming that communication was no problem, what do you think would be the
hardest thing to deal with in your visit?
 If you got stuck back during that time what would you want to do for a living?
Why?
 What part of this culture’s lifestyle would make it hard to live with them? Easy?
 What parts of our culture would you have the hardest time explaining to them?
 What would they think is the smartest or best part of our society?
 What would the people you’re visiting think makes the least amount of sense in
our culture?
 If you have any other questions or ideas to include go ahead and add them.
