Health STD Research Project
For this assignment, you will research a sexually transmitted disease, gather
specific information, write a research report, and finally present your findings to the
class.
To complete this assignment:
1. Choose an STD to research (Please see the teacher if you are having
difficulty).
2. Find the following information related to that STD:
 Describe the disease
 What causes this disease (Is it bacteria or a virus)?
 How is it transmitted (passed) from one person to another?
 What are the signs and symptoms?
 How is this STD treated? Can it be cured? Can infection with
this STD lead to other health-related issues/problems?
 Where can an infected person get tested and treated?
 What can a person do to prevent infection?
 Include any other information you feel is relevant (Statistics,
etc…).
3. Present your findings to the class and submit your written research paper to
the teacher (Use the school-wide writing rubric for guidance).
