Outline hurricane research project

Your research paper should be double spaced and at least 2 pages long. (Hint add a figure
or two).
First paragraph-Introduction- Introduce your paper and tell your audience what you
intend to communicate in your paper. Indicate the hurricane you choose and why.
Second paragraph-Define what a hurricane is. Explain the process of formation for a
hurricane. State where hurricanes are normally formed and explain why. Explain a
hurricane’s source of strength or energy. Break down the categories hurricanes are
classified under.
Third paragraph- Science Background-. Write about the specific details on the
hurricane of your choice. How long was it a storm? When did the hurricane reach its peak
strength (category); give details such as wind speed, atmospheric pressure and if possible
velocity. Describe the path of the storm and damage caused by the storm.
Fourth- The aftermath; what was the total cost of damage caused by the storm. Briefly
discuss the recovery.
Fifth paragraph- Closing- Explain why the storm you choose to write about is
significant in history.
