Penny Rounding Rule
For
OCONUS Commissaries
Commissaries located in OCONUS with exception of Guam, do not tender
pennies. Cashiers have had to manually calculate to the nearest
nickel/dime, automated checkouts are configured to accept tenders to
the nearest nickel/dime. Some examples of DeCA’s rounding rule:
The cash back issue applies to all tenders.
A general rule:
0-2 cents
3-5 cents
6-7 cents
8-10 cents
