Require a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer
We are currently looking to recruit an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to
provide the highest level of technical knowledge & capability within the IS
Department. The role will be based on our Broomhouse Lane Site however travel
will be required to support the other UK sites within the Polypipe Group.
The role will involve 3rd line support, development and management of the
Polypipe IT and communications systems infrastructure – this includes network
servers, PC’s, desktop applications & operating systems and the telephone
system. You will also lead & carry out infrastructure projects to support the needs
of individual business units as well as helping to plan the development and
support of the IT infrastructure. The role involves an amount of self direction &
prioritisation to resolve issues, direction from senior staff on application of
Company standards and resolution of more complex issues and liaison with other
departments and with external hardware, software and communications suppliers.
The ideal candidate will be able to think methodically whilst working under
pressure and should have excellent PC and personal communication skills. It is
essential to have significant technical experience in a similar sized IS environment
and have experience in deployment of server virtualisation, Citrix, Microsoft
networking, data backup technologies, ant-virus tools and desktop operating
systems. Preference will be given to candidates holding one or more of the
following technical qualifications – Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA, VMWare VCP or
Netapp NCDA/NCSA.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm with a half hour
unpaid break
