Transition Networks Showcasing Extensive Fiber Access Product Portfolio at
Interop 2008
Company Aims to Give Customers the Right Tools to Meet Broad Demand of Today’s
Networks
Minneapolis, MN — April 24th, 2008 — Transition Networks Inc., the conversion and
switching technology expert, a wholly owned subsidiary of Communications Systems, Inc.
(AMEX: JCS), will be showcasing their broad portfolio of fiber access network
infrastructure products at this year’s Interop 2008 conference. Transition’s innovative
products are aimed at providing network managers the right tools to meet the increased
demand from today’s networks. During the show which runs from April 29 through May 1
at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Transition will be presenting their
Technology Toolkit Series. This series of presentations highlights how networks have
become more diverse and new applications are forcing a broader range of product
requirements.
“Today’s network managers are converging networks, extending networks, managing
remotely, and providing more bandwidth while trying to control costs and maintain existing
networks,” said Patrick Schaber, Director of Marketing at Transition Networks. “They can’t
afford to be single-minded in their approach to meeting these demands. They need a
flexible set of solutions that allow them to manage their growth and allow their networks to
evolve.”
Transition will illustrate how it’s broad base of fiber networking gear allows network
managers to manage the growth companies face while still maintaining their existing
infrastructure. Market leading copper-to-fiber conversion and Ethernet switching products
aimed at Enterprise, Security, Data Center, Industrial and Service Provider customers will
be on demonstration by Transition’s representatives.
Product demonstrations include:
Power and Data Merged with Power-Over-Ethernet (PoE)
Combine power and data over one copper cable to wireless access points, security
cameras and IP phones with Transition’s PoE copper to fiber conversion and switching
products. Transition will also be announcing the release of their new 8-port Gigabit PoE
web managed switch.
Ethernet From the Office to the Hardened Environment
Take Ethernet from the office to the factory floor, substation, and extended temperature
environments with Industrial conversion and switching products – including Gigabit and
POE options.
Evolving The Service Provider Network to Meet Customer Demand
Providing service has become more than just a connection. Transition’s selection of MEF
certified CPE/NID devices, our fiber conserving CWDM, and traditional TDM products
allow providers to guarantee service levels, manage remotely, throttle bandwidth, and
assure reliability while preserving valuable fibers.
Affordable, Customizable Ethernet Switching
Cut costs by paying for only the ports and features you need. Transition’s MILAN brand of
Ethernet switches offers a flexible and customizable set of switching options.
Manage Data Center Growth
Free space in data center cable trays, reduce cooling costs, and manage network growth
by replacing bulky copper cabling with fiber cable. The Plug and PlayTM Gigabit Ethernet
media conversion module from Transition and Corning offers the highest density
conversion solution on the market.
Convergence Security & Surveillance with The Data Network
Utilize fiber in the data network and Power-over-Ethernet to overcome distance and
powering limitations of IP and Analog video security networks.
