There is a record of land, once owned by Edmund COOLEY and his son-in-law, Nathan Morgan.
Edmund COOLEY's land was disposed of by his son, John COOLEY. People named in the transaction were:

husband David ROBINSON, Matilda COOLEY-BROWN widow, Rachel COOLEY-MORGAN husband Matthew MORGAN,
Nancy COOLEY-HALLEY husband Thomas HALLEY, and heirs of deceased son David COOLEY. Began November 7, 1874...

Marriage Notes for EDMUND/EDMOND/EDWARD COOLEY and (POLLY) COLEY/UNKNOWN:
There is a NC. marriage record on the internet which reads as such:
Edmund COLEY and Dolly COLEY. It also appears this way on the NC. marriage records. Bond #000111047; Record #01 047.
Bondsman: (John) Jonathon Lane; Witness: John B. Troy
1-01-2000, A personal observation of mine and several cousins is that Edmund and Polly may have had more children than the 9
which are listed here: Nancy, John, Cynthia, Jenny, Patsey, William, Maraba, Thomas and Matilda. This conclusion is from the
fact that they were married in 1816 and there are no children shown to be born until 1823. A five year gap without children is
unlikely in those times for such a prolific clan of people who were farmers and needed more (male) children to labor on their land.
All of the above children were listed in the household of Edmund in 1850 Boyd Co., KY. Census, except for Nancy, who was
listed in the household of her husband, Thomas Halley.
8-17-2001, Recent evidence of a document to dispose of the estate of Edmund Cooley, lists the names for some of his other
children, not mentioned before, bringing the total up to 13 children. Any more out there?

Elizabeth is described as having fair skin, black hair and brown eyes. She was considered psychic. She had revealing dreams.
One of which, before her son Franklin died, dreamt about two infant graves next to, either her father-in-law's, or maternal
grandfather's grave. Elizabeth's first two sons, Charleton and Franklin, died as infants and are buried next to, either her father-inlaw, John Cooley, or maternal grandfather, Samuel Shoemaker, in Pine Grove Furnace, Lawrence Co., OH. according to family

WARD-WETZEL.
Elizabeth's tombstone reads: Mother Elizabeth wife of Edward COOLEY, Died July 19, 1896, aged 40 years, 7 months, 21 days.
The other side of the stone reads: Edward COOLEY, Died (no inscription). The tombstone is located in a rosebush, which had to
be cut back to read the stone. It is located next to George and Emma's plots. This data is from Sandy FOWLER-EDWARDS 0803-2001, who had visited the grave during the summer of 2001.

Marriage Notes for EDWARD/EDMOND/EDMUND COOLEY and (LIZZIE) WARD:
Edward met Elizabeth when he moved with his father, John COOLEY to Ironton, Lawrence Co., OH. Their marriage ceremony
was performed by Reverend Wilson Gardner.
6
Edward was very cruel to his wife and mean to his children.
Elizabeth died young and is buried in Ridgeway Cemetery in Wellston, Jackson Co., OH. located near an overgrown rose bush.
She and her husband's names are inscribed on the obelisk shaped tombstone. One side of the stone was prepared for Elizabeth.
The other side of the stone had Edward's name carved into it for future burial. There is no death date inscribed under his name,
which leads the family to believe it is a cenotaph for him. It may still hold true that Edward is somewhere unknown in an
unmarked grave. We believe his daughter, Grace COOLEY-KINSEL saw to that.

She was living in WI. in 1890 (Per Derald 08-17-2001).
She had applied for a (men who served in the Civil War) widow's pension. She lists her name as Jennie. Jacob Morgan of Ironton,
Lawrence Co., OH. signed the affidavit on behalf of (Jane) Jennie Morgan in the pension application. Most of the paper work was
done in Ironton, Lawrence Co., OH. Jane lived in Irontown at the time. (Per Derald 08-17-2001).
She is not listed on thew land disposal deed of her father, Edmund COOLEY. Edmund COOLEY and Nathan Morgan owned and
lost property in Boyd Co., KY. It may be the reason Jenny wasn't included as an heir in Edmund's final papers. Most of her living
siblings were also mentioned.
