Connection
How to Revise
Level 1

Connection is off topic.
- Ex: My entire long write has focused on
explaining how the main character changes
in the story. Then, I construct a connection
between the book I’m reading and another
book that it reminds me of because both
character’s have magical powers.
- This is not a strong connection because it
does not relate back to my writing focus! It
may have to do with the comparing the
characters, but my focus was character
change!

Construct a new connection:
1.) What is the big idea/focus of my long write?
2.) Is there another movie, book, or experience I’ve had/know
about that connects to my point?
3.) Construct connection.
