MATERIALS REQUIRED FOR FIBREGLASS/SILK CONSTRUCTION:

Nail Care by Skinmate International Tips
1.
Sanitize client’s hands with Nail Care by Skinmate Bacticleanse anti-bacterial spray.
2.
Check client’s nails and hands for contra-indications.
3.
Gently push back cuticles.
4.
Remove pterigium.
5.
Etch nail with Nail Studio 100/180 grit file to a light dust removing all shine (do not use
buffer block to remove the shine). Focus all around the cuticle area.
6.
Brush off dust with Nail Care by Skinmate nylon nailbrush.
7.
After selecting the right Nail Care by Skinmate tip, fit using the rocking method to apply
the artificial nail tip by placing the tip at a 45° angle then rocking it forward.
8.
Cut and shape artificial nails to the client’s desired length.
9.
Gently blend artificial nail tip even to natural nails. Make sure not to over blend.
10.
Brush off dust using Nail Care by Skinmate nylon nailbrush.
11.
Cut a piece of Nail Care by Skinmate silk / fibre and separate from the paper, place silk /
fibre onto nail so it will lie 1/16” away from the cuticle and side walls, press gently into
place.
12.
Cut a second strip of Nail Care by Skinmate silk / fibre to be placed over the stress point,
thus adding strength to the nail, gently press into place using a wooden cuticle stick.
13.
Apply 1 thin layer of Nail Care by Skinmate Resin over entire area.
14.
Spray with Nail Care by Skinmate Resin Activator.
15.
Apply 2nd thin layer of Nail Care by Skinmate Resin over entire area.
16.
Spray with Nail Care by Skinmate Resin Activator.
17.
Apply last layer of Nail Care by Skinmate Resin over entire area.
18.
Spray with Nail Care by Skinmate Resin Activator
19.
Repeat entire process on the other hand.
20.
Buff entire nail ensuring that there are no shiny areas on nail.
21.
Apply Nail Care by Skinmate base coat / ridgefiller, CM nail polish and Air Dry Glass
Kote.
Follow steps 1-6
1.
With a light file, buff the entire nail.
2.
Clip off any Nail Care by Skinmate silk / fibre that is lifting.
3.
Blend the re-growth flush with the natural nail.
4.
It is sometimes necessary at this stage to build up the natural nail slightly, if so, apply 2
layers of Resin and Resin Activator.
5.
Buff leaving the nail dull for silk / fibre application.
6.
Brush off excess dust.
7.
Cut Nail Care by Skinamte silk / fibre so it will lie 1/16” away from the cuticles and side
walls to just beyond the stress point (when doing a fill, it is not necessary to cover the
entire nail). Cut a second thin strip to cover stress area, if necessary.
8.
Follow steps 13-21.
REMOVAL OF SILK/FIBREGLASS:
Refer to “Removal of Acrylic”
1.
Nail Preparation:
a)
Remove nail polish with non-acetone.
b)
Push back cuticles.
c)
Remove pterigium.
d)
Etch nail with 100/180 grit file to a light dust removing all shine (do not use buffer
block to remove the shine). Focus all around the cuticle area.
e)
Brush off excess dust with a nylon brush.
f)
Spray and wipe all nails with Nail Care by Skinmate UV Sealer Cleanser.

How to Apply Nail Tip:
a)
After selecting the right fit use the rock on method to apply the
artificial nail tip by placing it at a 45º angle then rocking it forward.
b)
Cut and shape artificial nails to the client’s desired length.
c)
Gently blend artificial nail tip even to natural nails. Make sure not to over blend.
d)
Brush off excess dust using a nylon brush.
How to Apply the “Silk” Dip:

Apply Nail Care by Skinmate Equalizer to natural nail plate only.
2.
Apply Nail Care by Skinmate brush-on resin to the entire nail.
3.
Glide the nail through the Nail Care by Skinmate silk powder.
4.
Apply Nail Care by Skinmate brush-on resin to the entire nail.
5.
Glide through the Nail Care by Skinmate silk powder.
6.
Apply the brush-on resin to the entire nail.
7.
Mist nails with Nail Care by Skinmate glue activator.
8.
File, with a Nail Care by Skinmate pink file, around cuticle area and side walls and level
the upper nail.
9.
Buff with white block.
10.
Send the client to wash her hands.
11.
Apply a thin layer of Perfect Finish Sealer non-cleansing UV cure top coat and cure for
2-3 minutes.
12.
Apply CM nail polish and Nail Care by Skinmate Air Dry Glass Kote or leave the
clients nails natural.
File off the old material and if you have used the Perfect Finish Sealer, buff off the shine
ensuring to removal all traces of the top coat (there must be no shine).
1. Apply Perfect Balance/Equalizer to the re-growth area only.
2. Apply Nail Care by Skinmate resin to the entire nail.
3. Glide the nail through the Nail Care by Skinmate silk powder.
4. Dust off remaining powder.
5. Should you require a second layer of resin and powder, apply it at this point and then apply
a final layer of resin over entire nail. Mist with resin activator.
6. Gently file and make the surface uniform with a Nail Care by Skinmate pink file.
7. Buff with white block.
8. Send the client to wash her hands.
9. Apply Nail Care by Skinmate Perfect Finish Sealer non-cleansing UV top coat and cure for
2-3 minutes or CM nail polish and Nail Care by Skinmate Air Dry Glass Kote.
Removal of “Dip” System:
Refer to removal of “Acrylic”
