Louisville Schools Coordinator

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION'S PURPOSE
The Louisville Schools Coordinator assists in promoting and developing the growth of tennis in Kentucky by
working through a cooperative effort with Jefferson County Public Schools, Louisville Community Tennis
Associations and creating a network of school providers. This coordinator will provide opportunities such as
Teacher In-Service Trainings, assist teachers in PE classes to offer tennis, organize and support Kids Clubs.
Work to get tennis offered in after school enrichment programs. Provide a pathway to Junior Team Tennis,
National Junior Tennis League.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS - High School Diploma. USPTA or PTR preferred

EXPERIENCE - 3-5 years of community based work or non-profit experience.

SKILLS - Strong administrative, organizational, presentation and communication skills are essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Internet usage.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS – Full time, exempt position. Must be able to work a flexible schedule,
some evenings and weekends required. Must pass USTA and JCPS background screenings.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
 Conduct Professional Development for PE teacher in-service trainings.
 Assist PE teachers to offer tennis in class.
 Organize and support Kids Tennis Clubs and after school enrichment programs..
 Locate and train area junior coordinators for program support.
 Promote junior programs through community tennis associations.
 Help with local and state events for juniors. Creason Qualifier required and some adult events.
 Work with Community Development Coordinator, CTA Coordinators and TSR to offer programs to help
grow junior tennis.
 Attend the KAHPERD, FRYSC, 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Regional and State
Tennis Championship and Athletic Directors annual meetings.
 Promote USTA membership.










efficiently.
Support co-workers and help foster teamwork throughout the organization.
Carry out other duties as directed by management.
