THIRD HWCI OFFICIAL BETTING POOL- NCAA TOURNAMENT `97
There are eight possibilities to determine the final standings of the Third Annual HWCI NCAA Betting Pool. MAX stands
in very decent shape, winning money in 7 of 8 scenarios. FRODO, thanks to Arizona making the Final Four, can win it all
on five occasions and finish second in another. HENG is the only other person to win 1st place- if UNC beats Kentucky.
Past champions JAYBIAN II and BIX PIX will battle the aforementioned contenders and THE FLYING ELVI and BAD ASS II
for second and third place.
The tiebreaking system was first used last year. Everyone picked what they thought the total number of points will be
scored in the NCAA Championship Game. The person closest to the actual total will win the tiebreaker. Only three
possibilities will result in use of the tiebreaker for the top three spots and all three involve THE FLYING ELVI and BIX PIX in
a battle for the third and final money spot. If one wins the tiebreaker, the loser finishes fourth and wins nothing. If the total
score is 131 (ELVI predicted 115; BIX PIX 147; both off by 16 points) then there will be a tie for third and ELVI and BIX PIX
will split the $35.00 third place prize.
