Chair’s Report (Joe Jusai)
Chair welcomed everybody to the meeting. Everybody introduced himself/herself. Chair reported
the Florida Council meeting held last week. Chair also reminded the deadline of 25 February for
meeting reports.
Vice Chair’s Report (T. Wandeloski) – Tom reported that he was still selecting the banquet
place. The banquet is tentatively scheduled on Mar 4, 2005.
Treasurer’s Report (D. Prince/T. Wandeloski)
Tom handed out the treasurer’s reports for November, December and January. He also reported
the transfer from Mellon Bank to Wachovia Bank.

AP/MTT – (Antennas and Propagation / Microwave Theory and Techniques) (Parveen Wahid) –
Tom Wu stepped down and Dr. Wahid is the new chair.

COM/SP/VT – (Communications / Signal Processing / Vehicular Technology) (Thomas M.
Wandeloski) – Tom reported that a distinguished lecture is scheduled in mid March.
CS/RA/SMC – (Control Systems / Robotics and Automation / Systems, Man, and Cybernetics)
(Yi Guo) –No report/Not present
ED/CPMT – (Electron Devices / Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology) (Ravi
Todi) – Dr. Yuan will speak on Feb. 18 on " RF CMOS Devices and Circuits Reliability
subjected to electrical thermal stress" Also Dr. Adabanjo agreed to speak on March 13th. Ravi is
also inviting Dr. Cabral from IBM, to give a talk on "Metal gate Electrodes for Advanced CMOS
devices."
LEOS (Shin-Tson Wu) – No report/Not present
PE/IA/PEL (Aron Staley) – D. L Prince reported that the chapter has got a full year planned. The
chapter will have a technical meeting every month. Besides, the chapter will plan to provide PES
student scholarship.
UFFC (Vacant) – No report/Not present

Awards (Thomas X. Wu) – Tom Wu reported the awards nominations. ExCom members will
vote by E-mail. The nominations for the awards are: 1. Outstanding Service Award - Robert
Pirela; 2. Outstanding Engineering Award - Dr. Ben Abbott; 3. Outstanding Engineering Educator
Award - Prof. Arthur Weeks; 4. Outstanding Entrepreneur Award - Jay Vaidya; 5. Outstanding
Undergraduate Student Award - Shaohua Lin; and 6. Outstanding Graduate Student Awards
Ravi Todi and Sajid Khan.

Education (Kalpathy Sundaram) – Dr. Sundaram reported that there are some technical video
tapes available.

PACE (Jorge Medina) – Pace meeting will be held is March, Tucson. Ravi Todi will represent
the section to go.

Strategic planning (George McClure) – 3 volunteers from AES chapter have been contacted. 2
agreed to serve as new chapter officers.
UCF student chapter (Justin Key) – Justin reported student branch activities. The chapter is
preparing this year’s softwar, robotics and T-shirt competitions at IEEE Southeast Con.
