JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: CLINICAL REGISTERED NURSE - Licensed in the State of Washington
SUPERVISOR: MEDICAL DIRECTOR / CLINIC HEALTH DIRECTOR
SALARY RANGE: $26.00-$32.00 hourly DOE/DOQ 1 FTE
NATURE OF WORK: This is an ambulatory medical clinic that primarily serves the Native
American Indian population. The Clinical Registered Nurse, licensed in State of Washington,
will assist the medical professionals care for patients, direct, coordinate other nursing staff duties,
and conduct standard clerical functions. Performing a full range of Clinical Registered Nurse
assignments using independent judgment in making decisions where alternatives are determined
by standard medical practices and procedures.
REPRESENTATIVE JOB DUTIES:
1. Triage patients for examination including obtaining brief history, measurement of vital
signs, health history, reason for visit and other information
2. Assist Medical Providers (Physician, PA, ARNP, and/or FNP) with procedures and
treatments. Provide medical care under standing orders to patients as indicated by PA,
Physician, or other Medical Providers on staff.
3. Conduct home visits in coordination of Medical Provider direction.
4. Supervise and coordinate nursing staff job duties (LPN, MA, Front Desk Medical Office
Specialist) ensuring that he/she is completing assigned duties, documenting correctly in
EHR/RPMS.
5. Responsible for the coaching, evaluation and disciplinary of nursing staff(LPN, MA,
Medical Office Specialist)
6. Responsible for maintaining and updating policies and procedures for nursing staff,
infectious control, Medications, Immunizations, Laboratory protocol, and Storage of
biohazard materials.
7. Follow-up with the Medical Office Specialists on patient scheduling of appointments as
needed.
8. Ordering and properly storing/maintaining/documenting vaccines as required by the State
DOH guideline and administering vaccines under the order of the Providers. Keep the
RPMS computer immunization package up to date.
9. Inventory medications in stock and document/track when medications are issued to the
patient under the direction of the Providers.
10. Track medication expiration dates and disposes of expired medications using the
appropriate disposal procedure.

12. Telephone responsibilities include, following up on lab reports and making other patient
and outside Provider contacts as requested by the Providers.
13. Clean and stock exam rooms thoroughly and regularly.
14. Clean and maintain surgical/medical equipment/utensils.
15. Responsible for laboratory specimens, e.g., ensuring that collected specimens are
properly coded and placed in lab box for pick up, and recorded.
16. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ALSO INCLUDE:
1. The Clinical Registered Nurse shall possess a minimum degree, which is graduation from
Accredited nursing school and License in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse
2. Three years’ experience providing medical care as a clinical Registered Nurse. .
3. Experienced and competent at administering pediatric and adult immunizations, blood
draws and IV therapy.
4. Must be able to code using ICD-10 coding procedures
5. Supervisory experience of other nursing and support staff.
6. Valid Washington State Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance and eligible
for the Tribe’s automobile insurance.
7. Shall possess current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) & Cardio Pulmonary
Resuscitation (CPR) certifications or able to obtain within 6 months of employment.
8. Approved results of a pre-employment drug screen test, and a finger print background
check.

CONFIDENTIALITY: The employee will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement. Violation of
this agreement can result in immediate dismissal.
