Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality: Review of Concept Papers
Conference participants will be invited to submit Concept Papers for proposed research projects.
These Concept Papers will be reviewed by an experienced researcher from the Agency for Healthcare
Research and Quality (AHRQ). A discussion of the research projects and feedback from the AHRQ
will be conducted in a workshop format during the conference. Proposed Concept Papers from
conference participants must be received no later than October 24, 2003. The format for concept

Methodological Think Tank
The Methodological Think Tank consists of an experienced researcher presenting a research
problem for which no clear methodological approach has yet been identified. A group of
qualitative and quantitative methodologists work together to develop a methodology for
addressing the research question. Results of the Think Tank working group are presented at a
plenary sessions during the conference.
Dissection of Innovative Studies
The conference has always made an effort to seek out and present new and emerging
methodologies. The conference Program Committee identifies a recent primary care
research study that used an innovative research methodology appropriate to primary
care research. The principal investigator is invited to conduct a workshop, discussing
the innovative methods used, the problems encountered, and the solutions devised.
