Clark County, IL Historical Society opens new Exhibit
at county museum!
The Clark County, IL Historical Society announces a new exhibit
about the National Road! It will open at the Clark County Museum
located at the corner of 4th and Walnut streets in Marshall on
Sunday, June 10, 2007 from 2-4 p.m.. The exhibit will run through
September.
On June 10th there will be visitors from the past who will tell you
about their lives and activities along the National Road.
A lady from the 1860’s will be trying to figure out what she can
take in her wagon for the trip further west. Two ladies from 1880
will be visiting on the front porch of the log home.
Several cars that have traveled the National Road sometime in the
last two hundred years will be on display. Come and learn more
about life on the National Road during the last two hundred years!
The Clark County Historical Society buildings are open each
Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. The frame building, which is on
the National Register of Historic places, houses most of the
collection. The 1853 log house gives a glimpse of life long ago.
The meeting room also houses special exhibits.
The next exhibit will focus on the military and will open in
