EMPLOYMENT RECORD
Sept. 2010 to Nov. 2012: Quantity Surveyor and projects coordinator at ASSPRO i.e. ASSociated
PROcurement Consultants Ltd, providing technical Supervision on behalf of the Ministry of Education
and Sports to ensure that the construction of upcountry USE schools is achieved as regards specifications,
time and budgeted costs. ASSPRO is supervising the Construction of USE Schools under UPPET in the
Western part of the Uganda. The Project is funded by WORLD BANK.
Sept. 2010 to Date: Teaching Assistant, Department of Construction Economics and Management,
School of Built Environment, Teaching Housing Development and Management, Building Science and
Building Surveying, construction technology, property studies, operations research techniques,
arbitration and alternative dispute resolution methods, alongside other course units. I am also
supervising students in the fields of Housing for their final year projects. On top of all that, I am the
Assistant Examinations Officer in the Department of Construction Economics and Management.
July- Sept. 2010: Site agent, Mbarara District Local Government (District Lands Offices at Kamukuzi,
responsible for day to day supervision of finishing works, maintaining a daily site diary, preparing the
progress reports and accountabilities working under Babcon Uganda Limited as the Contractors. In
addition to the above, I participated in preparing BoQs for the different projects including Tullow oil, Goal
Uganda, among others.
June-Aug. 2009: Trainee with inter-property group, Nakawa, for industrial training where knowledge
about the different construction procurement methods, preparing BOQs, tender evaluation techniques,
requests for expressions of interest, requests for pre-qualifications, pricing techniques, cash flow analyses,
among others, was obtained.
June-Aug. 2008: Trainee with Roko Construction CO. Ltd, on Industrial training in my second year at
the university, in quest for knowledge about the different construction techniques, materials used in
construction, different types of plants available, types of trades, human resource management on site,
interpretation of construction drawing and specifications as well as instructions, daily work schedules,
how to manage a construction project, team work, records of materials on site, time management among
others.
May 2005-Aug. 2006: Worked as a teacher of mathematics at Ngabo Academy in Mbarara. While
teaching, I would part time and do construction as is shown below.
May 2005-Aug. 2006: Subcontractor for steel works with Nicontra construction Ltd, Mbarara, under
engineer Stephen Ochwo, with a group of other members; we constructed concrete water tanks at Kateete
(Mbarara) and Birere sub county (Isingiro District) for supplying water to the locals. Works involved,
excavations, bending steel, tying steel, casting concrete, curing until well established. Also within the
same time, various structures were built, including extension of lake view hotel, Hon. Emma Boona’s
mansion, International Window Girls School (Mr. Kasangaki’s developments), Church of Uganda’s House
next to Caltex roundabout, all in Mbarara.
Sept. 2004-May 2005: Lecturer at Uganda Technical college-Kichwamba, after my diploma in Building
and Civil engineering, I taught at UTC-Kichwamba before joining the university, teaching quantity
surveying and land surveying that I died previously.
June 2003-Aug. 2004: Trainee with Babcon Uganda Ltd, Constructing Education Standards Agency at
Kamukuzi in Mbarara, on Industrial training for a Diploma in Building and Civil engineering at Uganda
Technical College-Bushenyi. Knowledge about general construction involving, site clearance, excavations,
concrete works, shuttering, brick work, concrete technology, plastering, painting, carpentry, roofing
techniques, timber technology, steel works, plumbing, electrical installations, stair case technology among
others, was obtained.
