The Examination and Correction about the Evolutionary Path on
Comparison of SHI JI and HAN SHU Prior to Tang Dynasty

The comparison of SHI JI and HAN SHU has been an important research
subject in the traditional history criticism. When SHI JI was finished ,the
ruling class regarded it as “the libelous book” and restricted its spreading.
After HAN SHU published, the authority paid great attention on it and
made it be read everywhere, and at the same time the comparisons
between them was launched. From the Dynasties of Han, through Wei,
Jin and Nan Bei, till Sui, SHI JI and HAN SHU were similarly included
into the feudal historical classics and got the equal positions. This paper
argues if according to the accepted aesthetic theory and from readers
perspective, we come to conclusion the getting of the equal position of
the two classics appeared in the Dynasty of Nan Bei, but not Song and
Ming Dynasties. hen it refutes the saying which praised HAN SHU and
depreciated SHI JI were before Tang Dynasty and the getting of equal
position appeared in Song and Ming Dynasties.
