PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Lecturer - Institute of Diplomacy and International Studies, University of Nairobi –
since July 2004.
Responsibilities include teaching theory and practice of peace support operations,
international organizations and International Political System and supervising M.A
projects. I am the ICRC focal person for the Institute with the responsibility of organizing
annual moot court competitions and essay competition.

Assisted in administration duties, organized workshops and seminars on topical issues,
prepared reports for PS and minister to be delivered in official functions, edited foreign
Affairs bulletin- A publication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I was a member of the
Strategic Planning for the ministry.
Senior Lecturer - Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (1997-2003)
Responsibilities included administration duties; admission of students and recruitment of
part-time lecturers, budgeting and financing for Postgraduate department. Head of
Postgraduate department, trainer in Human Rights Journalism, News Writing and Media
Law and Ethics. Edited and published The Fourth Estate, Organized field trips for
students and prepared the strategic plan for KIMC.
Par-time Lecturer - Maseno University (2002)

Responsibilities included teaching the following courses: AMT 204 Political
Communication, AMT 210 Media Law and Ethics and AMT 405 Communication and
conflict resolution.
Program Assistant- Human Rights advocacy Program, Commonwealth Human
Rights Initiative (India) (March 2001 Jan. 2002)
Responsibilities included research, writing and production of Human Rights Advocacy
Materials ; maintenance of regular program documentation; field visits to gather research
and network and conducting training sessions on human rights advocacy using
participatory training methodology (one year contract).
Intern - The Standing Committee on Human Rights-Kenya (August
2000- December 2000)
Duties included editing the organization’s in house magazine, Media liaison, coordinating
UNDP sponsored research in six Kenya districts and writing articles on human rights.
Graduate Teacher 11 - Teachers Service Commission September (1990 – October
1997)
Duties included teaching History and Geography in Secondary School and administration
as a Headmaster in Katse Secondary School. I served in three Kenyan Secondary Schools
in various capacities.
