GOALS FOR STAFF TO USE TO ASSIST FOR APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR:
A will improve daily performance from 50% to 70% of appropriate behavior in the
classroom.
Awill remain on task each period with no more than 5 verbal cues.
Awill follow directions each period with no more than 5 verbal reminders.
A will utilize positive communication with no more than 5 verbal reminders.
STUDENT REINFORCERS:
When A reaches 70% for the week, he will be able to eat lunch in a teacher’s classroom.
He will also be given a soda when he is eating in the classroom. Also, after he finishes
eating, he will be allowed to have computer time for the remainder of the lunch period.
After 4 consecutive weeks at 70%, the IEP committee will meet to discuss the possibility
of moving Allen into another general education classroom.
PLAN:
A will carry a point sheet with him to each class. We will work on the following target
behaviors: 1 – Remaining on task; 2- Following Directions; 3 – Maintain Positive
Communication and 4 – Carrying Point Sheet. A’s daily goal is to earn 70% of available
points. For each target (1-3) he will earn 3 points if he has 5 or fewer verbal cues or
reminders. He will earn 2 points if he has to receive 6 -10 verbal cues or reminders. He
will earn 1 point if he has to receive more than 11 verbal cues or reminders. If he is
removed from the classroom due to behavior that impedes the learning of others he will
receive 0 points for that particular class. If he is removed from class for disruptive
behavior, A will receive a teacher referral and be sent to counsel with the dean regarding
his behavior. Behaviors that will warrant immediate dean referrals are: 1. Physical
altercations, 2. Verbal threats to peers or teachers and 3. the use of profanity. At the
conclusion of each day, his 7th period teacher will calculate his earned points and the
percentage for the day. He will also maintain a record to ensure that he is rewarded
weekly when he reaches the targeted 70% success rate.
