12. 15-16 March: The European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery: Research’s
symposium for cardiothoracic surgeons.
Topic: Applied science for cardio-thoracic surgeons and advanced surgical techniques.
There are a few spaces left for our registrars. Generic course prominent Europian
lecturers. Interactive session. If you want to attend then you have to stay there all the
time. Can’t go in and out all the time. 2 full days. For free. Speak to Cardiothorac
surgery dept’s secretary if you are interested.

13. Dr. Maasdorp thanked the consultants on behalve of the registars for their commitment
and patience with our clinical postgraduate training: especiallay the cardiology
wardround and the MMed final wardrounds on Wednesdays. He thanked prof.
Grundling for his clinical pearls.

a. Kimberley: Prof Grundling -> great resources and facilities. Dr. Joubert in
charge. 2 registrars will be appointed there soon. On Thursdays we will
send a consultant and registrar +- students for a wardround @ Kimberley.
