Materials and tools we always accept, Concrete Couch, 2015.
www.ConcreteCouch.org
Want to donate your used materials to us? GREAT, but let us get on the same page.
Usually it is best if you e-mail us and let us know what you have, and coordinate a dropoff: (donations@concretecouch.org).
Usually we do need you to drop it off at our facility, 513 Manitou Avenue, Manitou
Springs, 80829, during the Manitou Skillshare and Recycling Center: Wednesdays,
3:30pm to 5:30pm, OR make arrangements to drop it off at our Colorado Springs office
at 224 East Vermijo Avenue, 80903.
Below is a general list. Have other stuff? Let us know and we will help you find a home
for your materials and tools!
WOOD and WOOD-WORKING TOOLS:
-1 x and 2 x lumber is always accepted. 2 x 2s, 2 x 4s, 2x 6s, etc….any lengths.
-Plywood scraps, in any size and thickness bigger than 12” square.
(for all wood: If there are nails and other stuff on the wood, please either clean it, OR
bring it by during Manitou Skillshare hours and we will help you clean it for storage and
use).
-Tools like power drills, hammers, pliers, drill bits and drivers, etc are always welcome.
PAINT:
-We like oil and water-based paints, and even tempera paints, BUT we only need bright
colors and black and pure white. Generally we do not need pastel colored paints.
-Oil-based products like Linseed oil and polyurethane are also usually accepted.
CERAMIC and MOSAIC MATERIALS and TOOLS:
-Good quality “thin-set” type mortar, grout
-All-weather, bright colored ceramic tiles. Low-fire, softer tile is not useful to us. How to
tell? Touch your tongue to an exposed edge of tile…if your tongue sticks a bit, the tile is
absorbing water and is not all-weather. Colors we like: any bright color, or black.
Thickness of between 3/16” and ¼” are best.
- “Margin trowels” (square end), “diamond” trowels, tile nippers, and painter’s “palette
knives” are always needed, as are plastic tubs for mixing (the best are one to 4 cup
containers, and with lids if possible). Also large sponges and industrial-type rubber
gloves are great.
OTHER STUFF WE USE AND NEED:
-Nails, screws, bolts
-Caulk, both silicone and acrylic
-Wire of all thicknesses
Have other stuff? Please drop us a line and we will see if we can find a home for it!
