APPLICATION PROCESS
Each applicant must submit:
1. One (1) complete computer typed application for Scholarship.
Handwritten and/or incomplete applications will not be accepted. The
complete application, as a Word document, may be downloaded from
www.stdemetrius.org.

FAILURE TO COMPLETE ANY STEP AND REQUIREMENT BY THE DEADLINE WILL AUTOMATICALLY
VOID THE APPLICATION.
Scholarship winners will be notified by late March 2016 and will receive further instructions. Payment from St.
Demetrius the Great Martyr Parish will be made after the beginning of the fall term (September) for which the
award is made upon receipt of enrolment verification from the registrar where the recipient is enrolled and
pursuing a post-secondary education.

Declaration of Eligibility
To be eligible for a scholarship, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
Personal Eligibility
The five personal eligibility criteria are that you:
 are of Christian faith,
 are associated with the St. Demetrius Community,
 demonstrate a commitment to community work,
 are not currently nor have, in the past five years, been in receipt of a scholarship offering financial
assistance which exceeded $10,000; and
 have Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.

ELIGIBLE TO APPLY as noted in the criteria below.
To be eligible, applicants must meet certain enrolment criteria. This includes that the applicant be enrolled full-time.
For Post-graduate (i.e. Masters, PhD) applicants, you will need to have successfully gained entry into a postgraduate course for which the Scholarship application is being made.
For Undergraduate applicants, you will need to have successfully completed the equivalent of at least one
semester of full time study in the course in which you are enrolled and be appropriately enrolled for 2016.
For Diploma level course applicants your application must reflect the successful completion of at least one semester
of full time study in the course in which you are enrolled and be appropriately enrolled for 2016.
