PRESENTATION PROPOSAL
Deadline June 16, 2006
IMPORTANT: Please read all instructions carefully before completing
and submitting the attached presentation proposal.
1) Complete the proposal form as provided – proposals must be submitted on the supplied form.
2) The standard 30-minute presentation format should allow an opportunity for audience questions and answers,
which must be completed within the 30 minute allotment of time. A moderator will be assigned to each
session, and time limits will be enforced to ensure adequate time for each scheduled presenter. Alternate
formats are acceptable, although consideration of the conference program and scheduling may not permit all
proposals to be included.
3) List all presenters or panelists who will be participating if the proposal is accepted for the conference. A brief
biography of each presenter/panelist must be included in the space provided (no more than 200 words).
Please do not submit bios as a separate attachment or file. Content may be edited to accommodate
conference program space and/or format.
4) Include a brief abstract of the proposed presentation in the space provided on proposal form. Submit abstract
in paragraph format containing no more than 250 words. Do not submit abstracts as a separate file or
attachment. Abstracts may be edited to accommodate conference program space restrictions and/or format.
5) A projector, screen and internet connection will be provided for all presentations/sessions. Presenters are
responsible for providing a laptop on which to deliver the presentation, as well as audience handouts if
desired. In the space indicated on the proposal form, list any additional equipment needs and/or special
accommodations required for presentation or session.
6) Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified no later than June 30, 2006. A copy of all accepted presentations
should be provided on CD or DVD to the Division of Geographic Information before the conference or upon
check-in at the conference registration desk.
7) Conference presenters must register in advance for the conference and are responsible for conference
registration fee. Registration fee includes continental breakfast and lunch on and admission to all conference
activities and sessions on Tuesday, July 18 and Wednesday, July 19. Activities on Monday, July 17 are also
included with registration at no additional charge unless otherwise noted on conference program.
8) Final deadline for submission of proposals is June 16, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. Send completed proposal form as an
MS Word attachment to roberta.young@ky.gov, or fax to Roberta Young’s attention at the Division of
Geographic Information (Fax 502-573-6549).
