Surgery News
April 2012
This month, we are supporting a national campaign which aims to reduce the medicine
wastage that costs the NHS £300 million a year, or £20 million just in the South Central
area. The key messages are:
 Only order what you need (on repeat prescriptions) – unused medicines cannot
be recycled even if you didn’t open it.
 Dispose of medicine safely – return old and unused medication to us at the
surgery. Medicines and tablets lying around the home are a danger to children or
others who may take them.
 If you go into hospital, take your medication with you, clearly labelled.
 Ask your GP or the dispenser for advice if you are unsure about continuing your
medication.
See you at Elvis Night, 11th May at Crondall Village Hall!
