Benefiting South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind
Official Rules and Regulations
This fundraising event is presented by South Texas Lighthouse for the Blind
(STLB), a 501©3 non profit organization to help fulfill the mission to employ,
educate and empower our neighbors who are blind and visually impaired.
1. No purchase is necessary to attend the event.
2. Participants wanting to adopt-a-duck can for a donation to STLB for $5 per duck or a donation
for $20 for a Quack Pack of 5, which will assist in fulfilling their mission of providing programs
and services for people with vision loss.
3. Every person adopting-a-duck will receive a Certificate of Adoption where they can name their
duck.
4. All ducks entered will be provided by STLB, will be entered into the race, and shall remain the
property of STLB.
5. A number will be written on the bottom of the duck relating to the number on the Certificate of
Adoption and in the Rubber Duck record log.
6. All adopted rubber ducks will be dropped into the bay at Cole Park Pier at approximately 12
noon on Monday, September 1, 2008.
7. Volunteers who have not adopted-a-duck for the race will serve as the official judges at the finish
line to verify the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Last Place winning duck.
8. Winners do not need to be present to receive their prize.
9. Winners will be announced at the Rubber Duck Round-Up Awards Ceremony immediately
following the end of the race when the last duck crosses the finish line, which is between 12
noon and 1:00 p.m.
10. Winners will be notified by mail, e-mail or telephone and make arrangements with STLB for
pick up from 4421 Agnes Street in Corpus Christi, Texas before September 30, 2008 or will
forfeit their prize.
11. The combined retail value of all prizes will be at least $500. STLB reserves the right, at its sole
option, to substitute prizes of comparable value.
12. Any and all taxes and similar fees are the sole responsibility of the winners.
13. Chances of winning depend on the total number of qualified entries.
14. This event is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where
prohibited by law.
15. By adopting-a-duck, entrants release STLB and its members, agents, employees, and other
related entities from any and all liability with respect to prizes.
16. By adopting-a-duck, winners consent to promotional use of their names and likeness without
additional compensation.
17. If STLB determines, in its sole discretion, that the Rubber Duck Round-Up cannot occur at the
scheduled time for any reason, then they will postpone the event to another date and time by
public announcement thereof.
