I am working as a veterinary officer with the position of deputy chief of
animal diseases diagnostic laboratory at the National Animal Health Centre
(NAHC), Department of Livestock and Fisheries under the Ministry of

for the Management of Pig-associated Zoonoses Project in northern Lao
PDR, which is funded by Australian Centre for International
Agricultural Research (ACIAR). In close collaboration with Australian
Project Leader, we conducted a series of activities from the fields to the
laboratory to establish the evidence based in terms of prevalence,
distribution and socio-economic impacts of pig associated zoonoses in
northern Lao PDR, as well as to determine the risks associated with
1
human and pig transmission at the village level and identify appropriate
and sustainable disease control strategies.
– From October 2009 to October 2010, I was a principle researcher for the
study on “Future of Smallholder Poultry Producers in Lao PDR and
Cambodia” which is supported by John D. Rockefeller 3rd Scholars

to answer how poultry is important for rural livelihood? and what are
the determinant factors influencing the practices and behavior changes
of poultry producers.
– From August 2010 to July 2011, I was a principle investigator for a study
on sero-prevalence of bovine associated zoonotic infectious diseases in
northern Lao PDR which is supported by UNDP/WB/WHO Special
Program for TDR Small grants.
– From August to September 2011, I was a short national consultant in
lead field veterinarian of a swine disease outbreak investigation in Lao
PDR, under the TCP/RAS/3215 project. Under the guidance from
technical advisor of the project, I conducted PRRS outbreak investigation
to determine the source of infection for further identifying of its control
strategies.

October 1998 to August 2001:
I was a teacher and trainer in animal health for Lap-EU Livestock Project in
Lao PDR and was the Chief of the Livestock and Fisheries Division at
