Referencing of New Holdings
Form KAS 1, KAS 2
 To reference a property means to collect on site
information pertaining to a particular property. The
information includes the description of land and
building, building measurements and usage; as well
as information pertaining to neighbouring properties.
The rationale is to gather correct information for
carrying out valuation.
 Referencing must be handed systematically so that
important information is not missed out. The
measurement of building must adhere to the Uniform
Methods of Measurement by the Institution of
Surveyors Malaysia, a practice that is widely
accepted by the Valuation profession.
 Systematic referencing procedures are very important
because all the relevant property information is
collected for the purpose of carry out a reliable, fair
and dependable rating valuation.
