SHUROB HPP
The necessity of Shurob HPP Costuction has been made clear while was working out the Rogun HPP in 1973-1974. It had to play the
role of “contrregulation” as requirement to optimization of work all of Vakhsh HPP Cascade and in particular Roghun HPP.
The Site of Shurob HPP is defined lower of 12,5 km from the Rogun HPP Damsite . The difference of NHL (Normal Headwater Level)
between NHL of Nurek HPP(costructed in 1980) reservoir and NHL of Shurob HPP is 66 meters.
Shurob HPP will be operation jointly with Rogun HPP implementing restricted daily regulation.

COMPOSITION OF MAIN STRUCTURES, HYDRO POWER PLANT AND TYPE OF DAM
The type of dam construction is traditional and accepted as - the rock fill-earth dam with the central core consists of clayly loam

The high of up stream constructing cofferdam is 40 meters and a part of Dam construction. The cofferdam is rock fill-earth type
including screen made from clayly and rock crush loam materials.
The two lines of outlet structures have to be located on the right bank of the Vakhsh River. The outlet tunnels are trough-section - 11x
11meters, concrete reinforced lining thickness up to 1 meter, length 960 and 1040 meters
Power House and Water Conveying Structures are located on left bank of the Vakhsh River presented as follow:
- Tower type HPP Water Intake
- Headrace Tunnels
- Open-type House of Hydro Power Plant
- Tailrace Channel
The Power House of Hydro Power Plant accommodating 4-hydro units
- Hydro turbine РО-75/728М-В-670 – vertical shaft Francis- type;
- Hydro transformer type of СВ 1430/225-64 Capacity 212, 5/250 Watt/m.
The size of Power House (on plane) 61,3х123,3 m.
The Delivery Pressure Tunnels 9,0 m in diameters and length 600,0 meters.
Shurob HPP Generated electricity is conveyed to the consumers at a voltage of 220 and 500 kVolt by means of interconnection to
High Voltage Line – 500 kVolt Rogun HPP – Dushanbe TS.
The Concrete Dam designed as- gravity type is cut on 30 meters width section. The HHP Water Intakes and four Head Water Conduits
8,8 m in diameter with steel lining are mounted in body of the Dam.
