Recycle Pickup Checklist

Thursdays 5th and 6th period
place SORTED tubs in hallway for pickup.
1. Recycle baskets and tubs: pick up a tub in the library for classrooms.
2. Sorting should be done in classroom before pickup
a. Sorting tips
i. Office paper -- white copy paper, lined paper, white envelopes. Hadley’s
students need this sorted. They do not have time to do this for everyone! (This
is different than the recycling chart.)
ii. Mixed paper:
1. color copy paper
2. construction paper
3. poster board
4. press board (like a cereal box)
5. copy paper wrappers
6. brown envelopes (not brown paper bags)
7. magazines, catalogs, paperback books (remove plastic or wire binding)
3. Garbage – can not be recycled
1. tissue paper
2. paper towels
3. plastic coated paper
4. juice boxes
5. wax coated paper cups or plates
4. Plastic bottles and aluminum cans can be placed in the hall in boxes or tubs.
a. All containers must be drained (empty)
b. NO caps on plastic bottles
c. Crush cans if possible
5. Cardboard boxes should be broken down. Pieces of cardboard can be collected in a box.
a. Note: brown paper bags go with cardboard.
b. All cardboard is stored on the loading dock till recycle pickup.
6. Newspapers can go in the tub in the office by the mail boxes.
7. Plastic bags – keep a bag of bags in your room if needed and place in hall when full, or in
the office. (There is a white container for plastic bags near the mailboxes in the office.)
