WINTER STORAGE PLANS 2011-2012 Inside Boat Storage and Plan A ***these plans include all listed services that pertain to your boat. These services are charged in addition to the storage rate. Decommissioning- The bottom will be power washed. The bottom will be scraped to remove heavy barnacles and growth, and the cockpit will be power washed at the haul out time, if necessary. The engine will be winterize, with the hoses and belts checked. The water system, air conditioning system, generator, wash down pump, head and holding tank, and bait well will also be winterized. The batteries will be charged and then disconnected. Propeller(s) are sent out to be checked and reconditioned if necessary. We will remove and store the outdrive (s). All removable electronics if left on the boat will be removed and store. Canvas is then removed to be checked, repaired if necessary, cleaned and stored. Finally a dust cover is installed over the boat when stored inside. Boats stored outside will be shrunk to rub rail. Pre-commissioning- Change filters, fuel lines, check impellers, replace if necessary, grease seacocks and change internal zincs. Check steering. Spring commissioning- Plan A boats are unshrunk and the shrinkwrap recycled. Install stored electronics. Check electrical systems, and electronics (not bench tested), tune engine, scrape, sand and paint out drive and housing and outboard bracket if necessary. Install zincs. Prep and paint the bottom (customers who specify a bottom paint we do not carry as a “house bottom paint” must take the remainder of the bottom paint with them after the bottom has been painted), wash and wax the hull to rub rail (compounding is an additional charge), wash and wax above the rub rail, polish all stainless steel. Install the canvas. Flush and fill water system. Connect, check and charge batteries. Install propeller(s). If an outboard with a VST, it will cleaned. Run engines(s). Water test after launch. Boats stored on trailers- trailers will be evaluated to be sure the boat can be stored on it safely during the layup and that the trailer can travel the short distance necessary for storage Sailboats- Unrig and un-step the mast (full service is available- if rigging is entirely intact at time of haul, we will provide this service). Masts that are not stored on top of the boat will be charged for mast storage. Sails are sent out to be washed and checked. Furlers are serviced and stored. Sailboats- Pre-commissioning- check and lube winches, inspect standing rigging, check electrical components on the mast. Sailboats- Step, rig and tune the mast (full service is available- please discuss this with the Service Department if you would like to take advantage of this service at time of launch). 1 Bridge Street S. Boats stored on trailers- trailers will be evaluated to be sure the boat can be stored on it safely during the layup and that the trailer can travel the short distance necessary for storage. Boats are prepared by owner and Davis & Tripp, Inc. Boat owners agree to abide by our Storage Procedures, which must be signed and returned with the contract Sailboats- Masts that are not stored on top of the boat will be charged for mast storage. Work must be requested before January 1, 2011. Davis & Tripp, Inc. must perform some work in order to be considered Plan B. No launching can be scheduled from May 01, 2012 to June 15, 2012. Please be considerate of the environment and your boat storage neighbors when working on your boat. There will be a significant charge to all for whom we must clean up after.
