TO MARKET – TO MARKET! Our 8th Season Begins! The Market features local
farmers, licensed food vendors, artists and craftspeople. Find Market favorites and
fabulous new offerings. This Saturday at The Market you will find: fresh organic
produce, eggs, condiments and desserts, gourmet frozen entrees, baby items, handcrafted
clothing, soaps, jewelry, stained glass creations, photography, candles, yard art, and more
The Market is a delight if you are looking for local produce, one of kind handcrafted
items and/or art, too! Stop by Saturday and soak up the unique spirit of our Market. Pick
up a cup of fresh brewed Market java and pause for special live music this week by THE
NOVEAU STRING BAND (aka Tim Avalon).
MELINDA DOWNEY will be bringing lots of silver -- her regular chain work, and new
pieces of hammered, forged, then fused, silver -- there is no solder used in the process;
the silver is heated just to the point of melting to connect the parts.
PAT AND CLARK NERREN are new to our Market this season. Stop by and welcome
them and see their handpainted wine glasses, along with other colorful other items you
will want to brighten up your home.
STACY WILLS (A MAGIC MOM & HER MANDALAS) will be at the Market this
week with her intricate, colorful, framed originals, matted prints, crystal embellished

VICKIE GILBERT will have several creations for you hunters and fishermen out there
as well as Margaritaville and New Orleans scenes that are popular with those looking for
good art at a very reasonable price. She's always busy thinking up new and different,
eye-catching paintings for her vintage windows. Come and see these "whimsical" and
unique windows that always make us smile!
MOOZART, a member of the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi, will be back with
Molly’s incredible mixed media stained glass art – wind chimes, fan pulls, abstract faces
and more. Be sure and see her newly designed stained glass frogs. They are enchanting!
JOSEPH PETTIT will be returning to the Market for his seventh season with fresh
Pecan Smoked Pulled Pork Tamales, Chicken Tomatillo Tomato Tamales, and
Vegetarian Asparagus Tamales all served with Roasted Garlic Jalapeno Cheese Grits and
fresh salsa. He will also have Rosemary, Golden variegated Thyme, and French Tarragon
plants for sale. Rounding out the list are fresh free range eggs, bags of spinach and
arugula. Come early!!!
JACK CATLETTE will be back this year. He will be bringing photography featuring
Delta landscapes, which include Sunsets, Nature, and Architecture.
SISTER STONES will be back this weekend with gorgeous, handcrafted jewelry made
from genuine stones and sterling silver. They carry turquoise, coral, jasper, agate,
freshwater pearls, and many more! You don't want to miss this unique jewelry at
unbelievable prices!
APRIL SHOWERS SOAPS AND SUNDRIES offers HANDMADE soaps, full of
nature's goodness ...designed for your cleansing, comfort and pleasure.
"NO TIME 2 COOK" will be on hand with their "deliciously convenient" frozen

PAMILA ROSS is a new vendor at the Market this season. Stop by and check out her
watercolor canvas art, as well as her fun and colorfully painted children’s furniture.
DEBI COX will be at the Market this weekend with lots of new and different crystal and
ribbon jewelry. Be sure to stop by to say "hi" and pick up that perfect gift or maybe the
finishing touch for that perfect Easter outfit.
CARMEN CASTILLA, formerly of ARTichoke, will be at the Market with her
beautiful and fragrant hand poured candles. She will have your favorite scents like Pure
Magic, Ambrosia, Pomegranate and White Gardenia, plus new scents like "Black
Raspberry & Vanilla" and "So Lovely". She also has some beautiful new designs in
pillar candles, like the "spring landscape" design and the brightly multi-colored
"kaleidoscope" candle. The "rugged cross" candle has proven to be one of her more
popular ones and she will have some at the Market, just in time for you Easter decor. Of
course, she will have her ever popular rustic top jar candles, at sale prices.
PHYLLIS HURLEY will be on hand and continuing her support of UWEC. The
NOAH'S ARKS plus more animals! Phyllis will also be featuring fabric tote bags and
evening purses made of paper beads. Other offerings include beautiful patchwork aprons,
hot pads, circle purses, hand-made cloth dolls in traditional African dress featuring batik
and tie-dye. Also wall hangings, decorative balls, woven fiber baskets and jewelry made

RUSSELL’S PREMIER WAX WORKS is a new vendor this year. Their candles are
made of the finest engineered paraffin wax, producing the longest burn time as well as a
strong scent throw. Mike (an engineer) mathematically formulated the amount of scent in
each candle for optimal performance.
GLO’S PLACE will be back at the Market this week. Glo is a designer of handcrafted

DEVA’S HARVEST will be at the Market this Saturday with a great selection of baby
salad mixes, lettuce heads, herbs, sprouts and potting plants all USDA Organic Certified.
JO PATTERSON - A New Vendor - Come see Jo's handpainted birdhouses, from
country cottage with moss-covered roof to funky with bright colours and wild patterns.
Check out the unique birdhouse picks to put in an Easter or Spring flower arrangement.
Don't forget Mother's Day. Jo has priced some items that are "kid friendly" for the kid
who wants to shop for Mom or Grandma.
JEFFREY MELTON is back this year showing new items of mixed media and
found object decor for home and garden. Stop by and see his Garden Crosses,
Birdfeeders, Sun-dancers and metal baskets.
SOUTHERN FRIED ART - Krazy Kats and dogs along with bottle bushes, feeders for
birds and squirrels, bird houses and don't forget the rude pig and flamingo. Stop by and
check out Bill’s awesome iron crosses.
BETHANN’s will be on hand with Beth’s awesome comeback dressing. Stop by for a

ABBY FARMS will be on hand with fresh Free Range Eggs and fresh leeks. They will
also be taking advance orders for Abby Farms Free Range Broilers that will be available
starting June 6th.
CHARLES JENKINS will return with his whimsical art work. Charley is a noted
southern realism artist of line and color with a focus on pastels, watercolors and colored
wax pencils. This week, he will be bringing his white oak baskets and famous dancing
rabbits and turtles.
CROSS MY HEART – A New Vendor - Beautiful stone, bead and copper-wire wrapped
crosses with a heart specially placed in each one make unique “Cross My Heart” gifts.

TWISTER SCISSORS – Anne Campbell, formerly of ARTichoke will be back with her
racks made from vintage architerual salvage, found object sculpture, domino collage
pendants, earring made from vintage domino and mah jong tiles.
SUZANNA MCMAHAN is back at the Market this season with her new beads and
pendants crafted from her own polymer clay. Stop by and visit with this delightful young

SWEET MAGNOLIA FARM – A new local farm providing a range of delicious
naturally grown vegetables with no nasty chemical pesticides or fertilizers. This week,
they will have Easter Egg radishes, arugula, mesclun (a mix of red and green lettuce,
baby mild mustards, and baby Asian greens), and a microgreens mix (including red
amaranth, curly cress, kogane, sorrel and pac choi). These microgreens are full of flavor
and similar to sprouts, but grown in the soil to the two leaf stage and are great mixed in a
salad. They also be selling plant starts, including 3 different types of beans (Christmas
Lima, Dixie Butterbean, and Louisiana Purple Pod), summer squash (zephyr and
zucchini), and several varieties of heirloom tomatoes.
CORRIS MATTHEWS – A New Vendor – Will be offering an economical alternative
to commercial soaps. Corris soap is an affordable all natural vegan soap for family use.

BANKSTON GLASSWORKS will be back this weekend with pendants, rings, jewelry,
small bottles and dichroic marbles !
MELANIE JOHN – A New Vendor – (AudioAMN Designs) will have various unique
styles, colorful hand painted and crafted jewlery frames along with hand painted picture
frames. Her jewelry frames adds a bit of art to your room as well as providing storage for
those beautiful necklaces and earrings that go unseen because they are in a tangled mess
or hidden in drawers. Great for little girls too!
SADIEBUG’S CHILDREN’S CLOTHING is a new vendor and will be at the Market
this week with a line of fun, fanciful, unique tutus for the little ones. Stop by and

LIGHT AND GLASS STUDIOS will return with glassworks by Jerri Sherer and

slm CREATIONS will be at the Market this week with artisan handcrafted jewelry made
of sterling silver with precious and semi-precious gemstone. They also have a new
collection of children jewelry.
GRAMMEE’S ANGEL THREADS - FRIEDA WILLIAMS will be back this season
and will have her original Ladies Kaftans. She also will be bringing her pajamas for
children in a variety of colors and designs. Check out her ‘hunting’ p.j.’s.
PEARSON CERAMICS returns for another Market season. Ineke will be offering silk
pillows made from vintage japanese obis. Ineke will also have other handcrafted items,
including her ceramic creations. Congratulations to Roger for his recent acceptance into
The Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi with his hand tied fishing flies.
Each week is a new and different Market as vendors and products vary with the seasons.
Since changes occur after ‘What’s Fresh’ goes to press, we often have surprising last
minute additions and adjustments.
