for Citizenship Education Theory and Practice, China
Invitation for papers
The First International Seminar for Citizenship Education Theory and Practice, China, is to be
held at Zhengzhou University from Oct 16, 2004 to Oct 18, 2004, jointly organized by the Center
for Research on Citizenship Education (CRCE), Zhengzhou University, The Education
Department of Henan Province and The Administration Committee of Chinese College
Humanities& Social Sciences Research. The key-note speaker will be Dr. Alan Sears from the
University of New Brunswick, Canada.
The citizenship education seminar will focus on citizenship education theories and practices.
The themes will be:
(1) citizenship education theories and practices in developed countries
(2) citizenship education theories and practices in developing countries
(3) comparative studies on citizenship education in China and in the West
(4) research on the history of citizenship education
(5) research on the theoretical framework(s) of citizenship education
(6) citizen consciousness, citizen qualities, and related educational theories and practices
Deadline for submission of papers in English together with an English abstract is Sep 30, 2004.
