[Notice given on 24 November 2009 — Listed for 18 days]. 9 MS LOVELL — To move — That this House condemns the Minister for Housing for failing to release accurate Public Housing Waiting List data for the September 2009 quarter which has led to — (1) three separate sets of public housing waiting list figures for the September 2009 quarter being released in the space of one week; and (2) doubt being cast over the accuracy and integrity of Victoria’s public housing waiting list data; and further condemns the Minister for “cleansing” the public housing waiting list, which has cast doubt over the status of hundreds of housing applications, potentially causing stress and anguish to vulnerable Victorians and their families. [Notice given on 8 December 2009 — Listed for 14 days]. 25 March 2010 7 12 MR DALLA-RIVA — To move — That this House — (1) condemns the Victorian State Labor Government’s magazine titled Major Projects Victoria Corporate Profile 2009 as it — (a) is devoid of any major substance and is a shallow and meaningless 33 page spin document that uses 70 glossy photos in an attempt to distract from and hide their appalling record of performance; (b) fails to provide an explanation or any accountability for the many Major Projects Victoria budget and time overruns which have cost Victorian taxpayers; (c) dishonestly seeks to hide and gloss over the fact that — (i) the important Hepburn Springs bathhouse redevelopment was delivered 270 days late; and (ii) the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village development, according to the recent Victorian Auditor General’s Report, has a massive $46 million shortfall; and (d) fails to provide an explanation or evidence of accountability for how the Labor Government mismanages Major Projects; (2) notes with concern that the Victorian State Labor Government’s handling of its Major Projects portfolio has had a litany of cost blow-outs including — (a) $13,400,000 over-spend on the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre; (b) $500,000 over-spend on the Ngargee Australian Centre for Contemporary Arts; (c) $7,900,000 over-spend on the Royal Melbourne Showgrounds; and (d) $4,888,000 over-spend on the William Barak Bridge; and (3) condemns the Victorian State Labor Government for diverting resources and its focus away from fixing the culture of failure and mismanagement that has plagued Major Projects Victoria since 1999. Justin Madden as the Minister for the Respect Agenda when he is the only Minister in the history of the Victorian Parliament who has had a motion of no confidence to be moved against him and to be successfully passed and that he has thumbed his nose at Westminster tradition and ignored that motion of no confidence by failing to resign as a Minister of the Crown. [Notice given on 4 February 2010 — Listed for 9 days]. 24 MRS PEULICH — To move — That this House expresses its disappointment at the Minister for Youth Affairs, Sport and Recreation and the Minister Assisting the Premier for Multicultural Affairs, Mr James Merlino, MP, for failing his first test of the Brumby Government’s Respect Agenda in not inviting all local, State and Federal elected representatives, regardless of political allegiances, to the recent funding announcements in the electorates of Bentleigh, Mordialloc, Carrum, Frankston and Bass and for showing that the “Respect Agenda” is nothing more than spin, propaganda and blatant hypocrisy that has little to do with how this Government actually conducts itself. [Notice given on 25 February 2010 — Listed for 6 days]. 28 MS LOVELL — To move — That this House condemns the Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development for her failure to act immediately to address the needs of the Toolamba community following the destruction of the Toolamba Kindergarten building which was destroyed by fire on 3 February 2010 and notes its concern that the Minister was unaware of the fire until contacted by Ms Wendy Lovell, MLC on 8 February 2010 to enquire why she had not been in contact with the Toolamba Kindergarten Committee. [Notice given on 25 February 2010 — Listed for 6 days]. 10 Legislative Council Notice Paper No. 162 29 MS LOVELL — To move — That this House — (1) condemns the Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development for her failure to adequately plan for the provision of kindergarten places across Victoria and expresses its concern particularly for families within the Rural City of Wangaratta where 19 four year olds were denied access to kindergarten due to a shortage of places, the City of Melbourne that has a waiting list of 347 for 83 places, and the cities of Knox, Wyndham, Hobson’s Bay, Darebin, Glen Eira and Monash where parents have been unable to access a kindergarten place for their four year old children; and (2) notes that the Brumby Government has known for years that there would be increased demand for places due to Victoria’s baby boom and that the Federal Labor policy to increase the hours for four year old kindergarten to 15 hour programs would place additional pressure on kindergartens that are already operating at capacity, yet the Brumby Government has failed to plan for the increase in demand and hours causing some children to miss out on a kindergarten experience and placing the future of three year old programs in jeopardy. [Notice given on 9 March 2010 — Listed for 5 days]. 33 MR VOGELS — To move — That this House — (1) notes with concern the failure of the Brumby Government to release the report of the Local Government Investigations and Compliance Inspectorate on Colac Otway Shire Council dated 6 November 2009; (2) expresses its disappointment that the Brumby Government has determined that the release of this report would be prejudicial to the public interest; (3) calls on the Attorney-General to respect the will and role of the Legislative Council’s request to table this report inclusive of relevant documentation; and (4) calls on the Attorney-General to explain how appointing a Chief Executive Officer of a Shire Council in Victoria would reveal high-level confidential processes of the Executive Government.
