Course Requirements for Army ROTC Cadets
Army regulations require all contracted Army ROTC cadets to take the advanced Army
ROTC Courses to receive a commission as an officer in the United States Army. In addition, all
contracted cadets are required to take a military history course and a communications course.

These classes should be included in the minimum 12-hours course load requirement to
retain VA benefits acquired under the Montgomery GI Bill program. Furthermore, the
Department of Military Science offers a minor in Military Science. The following requirements
comprise the minor: Fourteen semester-hours in Military Science [MILS], including twelve at the
3000/4000 level, and a three-hour 3000-level Military History course.
